Instead of being Brazil’s rough and tough bad boy, Rio de Janeiro could be the most beautiful city on the planet. There are the ocean, the beaches, the hills, the vegetation, the views….I could go on and on.
But then there is the poverty, the violence, the hopelessness, the corruption, the dirt….I could go on and on.
And I do. In this refined guide to a rough city.
How did I become a Citizen of the World? Why do I have these itchy feet? Where does this greed for exploring come from? Why this fascination with foreign customs’n’cultures? Was there a specific moment? Or did I get injected this yearning for travel in homeopathic doses?
I’ve put together five anecdotes about my earliest – and most impressive – travel memories that might explain a thing or two.
It’s really amazing what my brain remembers, how these trips sank in and anchored in my mind and soul.

Others try their luck and visit Hakone, a hot spring region with many grand places to experience – like the Hakone Open Air Museum, an outdoor gallery at the height of beauty.
World-famous Mount Fuji, probably Japan’s most iconic landmark, is a still active volcano, albeit, it erupted for the last time in 1707, so no worries.
This Way to the Whole Story ->It is easily possible to see the highlights of Vietnam even if you can spend only two or three weeks in this fascinating country.
Yes, there is so much fascinating culture and rich yet tragic history. There are bustling metropoles, rolling hills, endless beaches, and mesmerizing bays. Finally, Vietnam is really safe and easy to explore – even for a solo-travelling female.
This Way to the Whole Story ->For many visitors, gates to Vietnam open at Ho Chi Minh City – a metropolis formerly known as Saigon.
This megacity in the southern, tropical part of Vietnam has about 8.5 million inhabitants – and 7.4 million motorbikes.
This Way to the Whole Story ->Mui Ne – this fishing village a bit over 200 kilometers north of Ho Chi Minh City stands for sea and sand. And talking ’bout sand, I’m not referring to just a dreamy beach but to amazing sand dunes on the outskirts of Mui Ne.
Whether you prefer them in yellow or in red – you need to get up at the break of the day to enjoy them most.

International visitors join the Vietnamese honeymooners to enjoy the region’s rolling hills covered by lush vegetation.
